I’m Envato’s Community Superstar!

The lovely people over at Envato have chosen me to be the Community Superstar out of over 12,000 authors that use the Envato Marketplaces. This is a huge achievement and I’m happy to know that I do have an effect on the Envato community.

I get to keep the shiny Gold Community Superstar badge for 12 months now and hopefully it’ll make me work harder to keep the users happy.

Here is a little snippet from the feature:

You may know Christine better by her previous nom de plume – WildeMedia. But just recently she’s re-branded under her own name ChristineWilde.

Christine has been with the Marketplaces since August 2009 and has worked up quite a portfolio of items in the 3DOcean, GraphicRiver, and ThemeForest Marketplaces.

Christine hails from the UK from the southern area of Hampshire, which also happens to be the part-time home of one of my favorite authors P. G. Wodehouse (of Jeeves and Wooster fame). Which means I may just have to give Christine a nick name and call out “What oh Chippy?” when we meet. I’m sure she’d enjoy that.

New Name & Logo

I decided to change my name on the Envato Marketplaces so all my customers know I’m a ‘one woman band’ and I thought it would add a nice personal touch to my items and support services. I’ve also updated my logo to something that I think it a lot more future proof. I wanted something that was simple yet effective.

There are some more updates in the near future such as theme updates, a support forum, updates, updates, updates. If you have any comments or suggestions then please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or email me.

Installing a Custom Tumblr Theme

Installing a Tumblr theme is real easy! Just follow these simple steps to get it perfect first time! Whether your downloading a freebie or a premium theme you will be provided with a .html file, this contains all the code you need for your new theme.

1. Open that file up with a text editing program such as NotePad (it’s free!).

2. You want to select and copy everything in this file… every last bit of code. You can easily do this by pressing CTRL + A, then CTRL + C, which will select everything and then copy everything.

3. Log in to your Tumblr account with your login details and click on the Customize Appearance button.

4. Click on the Theme menu item at the top of the Customize page. This will open a drop down showing some of Tumblr’s own free and premium themes. You want to click on the Use Custom HTML button at the bottom of this drop down.

5. This will change the drop down menu and it will show a tonne of code. Select all of that code and delete it… we don’t need that old code any more. Now whilst in this box press CTRL + V, that will paste in your new themes code.

6. Click on Update Preview and that will change the preview from your old theme to the new one. Press the green Save + Close button in the top right.

7. Go to your Tumblr accounts URL and you’ll see that your new theme has now been installed. If your theme has custom options they will be under the Appearance tab when in the Customization mode.

New Design in the Works!

Long time no post! That’s all going to change very soon. I’m currently working on a new theme for my site to bring it up to date and include more features and work. I will make sure to add more posts and specifically some on using and design for Tumblr. My new website will advertise all my files on ThemeForest, GraphicRiver and 3DOcean a lot more. There will be a huge update for my portfolio because I’ve been a busy little bee lately working on many projects.

I will post a screenshot of the new design very soon! For now follow me on Twitter for updates on my website, new items and updates. =]

12 New 3D Models on 3DOcean

These are the latest 3D Models I’ve uploaded to 3D Ocean. If you have any questions about my models or would like a custom model then please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me. Each model is created completely from scratch and includes a useful help file. These models are of an average poly count and can be used in a variety of projects. Click on the thumbnails below to see more information on each model.

If you have any suggestions for new models then please leave a comment and I’ll get on to it for you. I have some more 3D models in the pipe line. More based on architecture and landmarks. If your looking to stand out from the crowd and have a unique look then a premium theme is for you. Also with premium themes on ThemeForest you have pretty much 24/7 online support. All the authors on ThemeForest are always happy to answer an queries you might have about their themes.

Tumblr has also rolled out some premium themes ranging from $9 right up to $49. I don’t have any experience of their support structure so I can’t comment on it.
